J. Samuel-Bryan is a self-taught artist specialising in narrative fine art. Originally from Whitstable, Kent, she now lives and works in Stockport and is Manager and Curator at EPOK.
J. Samuel-Bryan's art practice is centred on storytelling, with the subject matter of her work coming either from stories she has constructed herself, dreams, or from literature and poetry. "It comes from having done a degree in Creative Writing; i see everything through a lens of art and words. My passion is to discover tales and to explore new avenues in them with my art."
Currently she is working on a group of pieces that are inspired be performance poet Laurie Bolger's work, including a diptych of very large watercolour banners (1.5m x 1m). Once completed the pieces will make up a solo show with an appearance from Laurie.
